ON A HOT August night, CNU NYC had the first of a regular series of combined walks and meetups. Starting at Grand Army Plaza between Prospect Heights and Park Slope, we walked down the hill through Park Slope, across Atlantic Yards / Pacific Park, to “the most beautiful block in New York”* – before stopping for frozen Margaritas in Fort Greene at Habana Outpost.
Architect and urbanist Gaither Pratt (a Park Slope resident) led the tour. When we arrived at Atlantic Yards, Gib Veconi talked about his experiences with Brooklyn Speaks, negotiating with, and eventually suing (and beating) Forest City Ratner. Stay tuned for more walks. You can find them on Twitter @CNU_NYC, or send your email to info@cnu.nyc to get on our mailing list.
